Hans Hass “Diving To Adventure” Award

The Historical Diving Society Hans Hass “Diving To Adventure Award” is sanctioned by Professor Hans Hass, and is presented annually by the vote of The Hans Hass Award Committee.

The Award is established in two categories: Arts and Literature in recognition of Professor Hass’ pioneering work in both underwater imagery and printed word, and Science and Technology in recognition of Professor Hass’ pioneering work in marine sciences and underwater technical innovation. The Award is presented at venue’s designated by The Hans Hass Award Committee. The Award is a framed cast bronze plaque, designed and donated by ocean artist Wyland, showing an image of Hans Hass from his solo 1949 Red Sea Expedition. The Award was conceived by Leslie Leaney in 2002, and approved by Professor Hass the HDS Board of Directors in the same year.

Criteria for Nomination.
An individual who, in the spirit of Professor Hass’ pioneer work in fields of underwater Science, Technology, Arts and Literature, has excelled at an international level in any of those fields. Nominations should be sent to Krov Menuhin, Chairman, The HDS Hans Hass Award Committee, at Krov@aol.com
